Standing at approximately 1788 mm, (1768 mm after a haircut) I am an Artist, Designer, Photographer and Teacher in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. As a Visual Arts Teacher and Department Head at KCI in downtown Kitchener, I teach Photography, Senior Graphics and Yearbook. It is here that I am lucky to learn with an amazing and talented group of students as we work together on projects such as AH (After Hours), BAA (Big Arts Adventure), WAF (Waterloo Arts Festival) and RBAC (Really Big Art Club). Before teaching I was the cofounder of an Internet Software company where I acted as both a Project Manager and Graphic Designer. And even though that path is far behind me, when an interesting venture comes up (or someone just asks nicely) I find myself dabbling in the occasional online or design project. As I continue to grow as an Artist I regularly work with different types (and often a combination) of medium. Past explorations include painting, drawing, sculpture, woodcarving, printing, photography, digital art and mixed media. While I have been creating art all my life, I have only recently started to collect and show my work in festivals, galleries and exhibitions. My few upcoming and past appearances are listed on the left. Because of my photography classes and the fact that everyone I know (including me) seems to be having kids... my camera seems to be in my hands quite often. And, not surprisingly, a number of my favourite shots are kid centric. This online portfolio is a small collection of pieces that I have created or thrown together over the years. Some are personal favourites while others are ideas or visuals that I often come back to for one reason or another. (My flickr account houses a few photos taken on trips, walks or jaunts, but I don’t update it nearly enough.) I will be adding more pieces to this gallery as I explore, experience and grow. If any of my work catches your eye, or if you have any questions, ideas or possibilities please drop me a line. Thanks
